Design Test Engineer - Bearings - Siemens Gamesa Denmark Permanent

Are you passionate about having theory and praxis coming together by developing test methods, to validate the theoretical design of bearings, and by performing test and investigations on bearings from turbines in action? Do you want to combine theoretical understanding and knowledge of Bearings with hands on knowledge, ensuring that learnings from products in field, is taken into account in design?

 

For our Technology department in Brande, Denmark we are looking for an Engineer who can be a further enrichment of our Bearing department. The Bearing department is responsible for the structural integrity, design, and validation of Main- and Blade bearings and technology development of bearing technologies for our Offshore Turbines.

 

Your responsibility will be to ensure that the validation test of our bearing, done within our testing center is initiated and performed to specifications prepared and developed by you. You will make sure that a proper reporting and documentation is done, and the learnings from test and investigation on products is captured and shared with colleges within the department.

The design and validation of the bearings are done together with the sub supplier and requires often interaction with supplier and SGRE departments like Testing, Service and Product

Integrity. You will refer to the manager of the Bearing Department.

 

What are my responsibilities?

·Technical specifications and input to the Test department

·Sparring with FE, CAD, Mechanical bearing specialists and Metallurgy specialist

·Close cooperation with prototype workshop and Test department.

·Specification for full scale test of MB and BB

·Inspection of bearings during test

·Analysis of data from tests

·Development of full scale test setup.

·Execution of the test plan for BB and MB within  SGRE

·Support to root cause analysis and warranty case handling.

·Reporting and knowledge sharing of test and RCA with Design engineers

 

What do I need to qualify for this job?

·You probably hold a Bachelor or a Master degree as Mechanical Engineer, or similar and preferably some experience with craftsmanship of large steel parts

·Preferably, you have some years of practical experience with mechanical design and production internally as well as through vendors. However, we are also interested in candidates who have graduated from their education recently

·You possess good mechanical understanding and motivation for working in a R&D - and you are able to combine that with common sense

·You have experience in analysing steel subjected to fatigue and surface pressure

·You are outgoing and proactive, and you possess the ability to work both independently and in teams

·You are structured and innovative and your approach to task solving is both technically sound and commercially viable

·You are capable of and motivated by creating results through team work as well as independently

·You are result-oriented, proactive and open-minded to new methods, working persistently towards achieving your goals

·You thrive in an international and dynamic work environment and have the ability to cooperate efficiently across multiple professional disciplines

·You possess strong analytical and outstanding communication skills and are fluent in English, both orally and in writing
