For our Technology Department in Brande, Denmark we are looking for an experienced Engineer who can be a further enrichment of our Bearing Department. Our department is responsible for the structural integrity, design of the bearings and technology development of bearing technologies. Your responsibility will be to participate in the development of new designs within platforms. The design of the bearing is done together with the sub supplier and requires often interaction with supplier and SGRE- Procurement, Supplier quality, service, warranty department and design teams in the other departments for successful integration of your design. You will refer to the manager of the Bearing Department.

What are my responsibilities?

 

• Participation in technology development projects within the area of main and blade bearings
• Responsible for development of the bearing from concept to serial production
• Actively engage with our service BU to document at systemize learnings from turbines in operation into new design
• Ensure that all potential field issues are corrected before serial production
• Root cause analysis and warranty case handling
• Analysis of measurement data from turbine fleet and test
• Technical specifications, and input to DFMEA and DRA
• Sparring with FE, CAD and Mechanical bearing specialists
• Overview of cost breakdown
• Close cooperation with prototype workshop, production, procurement, quality and other Technology interfaces within the department and outside
• Align design stages with suppliers together with procurement and our mechanical specialist.
• Manage projects with internal/external stakeholders and proactively maintain organizational interfaces as well as communication with customers
• Maintain contact with certification bodies and ensure compliance with and information about certification requirements

 

 

What do I need to qualify for this job?

 

• You have experience with design of bearings for large machines
• You hold a master degree or a Ph.D. in mechanical in structural, mechanical or marine engineering
• You have experience in product development and knowledge of project management
• You possess good system understanding were you are able to combine that with common sense
• You can challenge the suppliers on cost, time and quality through always having knowledge about should costing
• You are outgoing and proactive, and you possess the ability to work both independently and in teams

·        You are structured and innovative and your approach to task solving is both technically sound and commercially viable

·        You have excellent communication skills and are fluent in both written and spoken English
