As Head of Manufacturing Process and Industrialization, you ensure that the factory has the technical capability to manufacture safely, at the right quality, on-time and at the lowest possible cost. You support the factory operations in different product lifecycle phases (from allocated windfarm projects assembly & delivery to new product development). You have a functional responsibility for budgeting and implementing factory investments according to the overall factory, business and industrial plan.
What are my responsibilities?
- Within your area of responsibility support development of the plant towards a Zero Harm factory and ensure quality by encouraging a Zero Defect Culture
- Within your area of responsibility ensure that signed projects are delivered on-time, create flexibility to meet customer demands and cooperate with regional and global functions
- Ramp-up your team and related operational activities within the areas of manufacturing process and industrialization, including hiring, training and development of the respective employees
- Support new factory start-up ensuring that the factory is equipped with the right processes, work instructions and tools to deliver according to the overall business plan at highest performance in health & safety, quality, lead-time and cost (both operational and capital expenditures)
- Deploy standard manufacturing processes and tools for main modules (nacelle, hub, drive train) according to SGRE industrial strategy in a multiproduct, serialized and make to order assembly model
- Support the development of new wind turbines to ensure design for manufacturing and assembly, and industrialize them according to SGRE business & industrial plan
- Plan, propose, evaluate and budget factory investments, implement changes and monitor execution, and validate yearly investment requests
- Benchmark factory performance and ensure best practice sharing across factories
- Ensure manufacturing requirements definition and participate in SGRE digitalization roadmap
- Resolve roadblocks when required delivery schedules cannot be met
- Create transparency on your performance and report to plant management
- Manage and continuously improve your team and secure operational efficiency at minimal cost
- Detect and implement cost reduction ideas within the manufacturing process
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Minimum 10 years industrial engineering experience in advanced and challenging business environments (e.g., automotive, aeronautics, heavy machinery) including plant operations management experience
- Strong skills in fact based problem solving
- Proactive, analytic, with cost focus
- Proven track record of building effective teams
- Strong ability to influence people from shop floor to top management
- Significant experience in quality and safety leadership
- Experience in international stakeholder management with the ability to navigate within a global and cross-functional organization including strong intercultural skills
- Proven track record to support and maintain a culture ensuring trust, ownership and empowerment
- You are fluent in English and Turkish both orally and in writing (Spanish language skills are an advantage)
Field of expertise:
It is an advantage but not a prerequisite that you possess detailed knowledge of the following areas:
- Wind turbine, in particular nacelle development, assembly or service
- Technical writing
- Product design
- New product introduction
