For our R&D team “Electrical Client User Models” we are looking for a person for the development of our wind turbine electrical simulation models, as well as taking part in the future development and design of our electrical simulation model platform. The R&D team develops a number of different electrical simulation models for the Siemens Wind Turbines which are used in grid connection studies, grid code compliance studies and other electrical system studies.

 

What are my responsibilities?

As a Team member in the R&D Department you will be required to work individually and in small groups with a number of different tasks concerning electrical modeling of wind turbines. Working assignments will include, but will not be limited to:

·        Development of electrical simulation models in various electrical simulation tool, like Matlab/simulink, DigSIlent PF, PSS/E, PSCAD.

o   Model development using model source code extraction from Matlab/simulink

·        Implementation of wind turbine functions/features into the simulation model platform

·        Provide model support and grid connection studies support to internal and external users of SiemensGamesa PSS/E wind turbine models

·        Benchmarking and validation of the developed simulation models

·        Investigate and analyze wind turbine functions/features in relation to the wind farms connected to the electrical power system

 

What do I need to qualify for this job?

·        You have an education within Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience within the development of electrical simulation models and experience within one or more of the simulation tools like Matlab/Simulink, PSS/E, DigSilent PF and PSCAD

·        You have experience within control systems, electrical system designs/studies and software development using Fortran, C/C++, Microsoft Visual Studio or similar programs is an advantage

·        You have a general understanding of electrical power systems is expected including basic knowledge and experience within electrical aspects of wind turbines and power converters

·        You are a dedicated team player and you thrive in a multi-cultural environment

·        You possess fluency in spoken and written English
